What the institution had

67 separate career sites each UN agency or INGO with its own portal, its own grade-code dropdown (P1, P2, P3, NOB, G5…), its own application pack, and no cross-organisation search. A job seeker had to know which agencies existed, visit each site individually, and decode internal payroll taxonomy to find a role that matched their experience.

What users needed

One place. Search by role type and real experience level and not by the HR classification system the institution uses internally.

What we built

A single aggregated search across all 67 sites. Grade codes bucketed into five human-readable experience tiers: Entry · Mid career · Senior. The underlying data did not change only the lens did.

// Observations from this project
// April 2026

Grade codes (P2, P3, NOB, G5) are a payroll category. They became a search filter on job sites because that is how the institution thinks of its people. Job seekers don't. We replaced the filter with five experience buckets. Applications went to the right roles.
